Call for Professional Trainers:

Sister Aid Liberia Inc., with support from UN Women through the support of the Government of Ireland is implementing the project titled: Promoting Gender Transformative Leadership and Positive Masculinity through Training and Mentorship. This project seeks to increase women’s participation in decision-making spaces, public life, and peace-building mechanisms at the local level. With this project, SALI will implement the following activities:

Transformative leadership, communication, public speaking, and organizational management training targeting 100 newly appointed women leaders and 75 women aspirants/emerging women leaders.

• Transformative leadership, conflict resolution, and mediation training targeting 100 peace hut women and 75 other women networks.

• Gender transformative leadership and positive masculinity training targeting 140 local level stakeholders such as superintendents, development superintendents, city mayors, district commissioners, and local political party leaders.

• Gender transformative leadership and positive masculinity training targeting 140 traditional and community leaders, and male influencers.

These trainings are intended to provide participants with the skills and mindset needed to navigate challenges, inspire change, and lead with purpose in Liberia’s evolving political landscape. The training in expected to be rolled out in seven counties namely Bong, Gbarpolu, Nimba, Lofa, Grand Gedeh, Grand Bassa, and Bomi. However, the project is divided into two quarters. Quarter one will capture three counties (Gbarpolu, Bomi and Nimba).

To this end, SALI seeks to engage professional trainers to undertake the development of a comprehensive training material in English and implementation of the aforementioned trainings.

(c) Scope of work and expected outputs / deliverables:

1. Familiarize yourself with training related topics from the institution’s existing training modules.

2. Collaborate with other trainers to develop a comprehensive training presentation utilizing information from existing training modules

3. Develop a clear training agenda in line with how the training will be executed, incorporating different methodologies and training-related ice breakers.

4. Be available for a meeting with our partners to review the developed training materials

5. liaise with the responsible team leads to ensure that all training materials are available at least two days before training day.

6. Prepare and submit an after-training summary report to SALI’s team

7. Be available for close up meeting to discuss lesson learned and best approach for the next implementing quarter.

(d) Timeframe and deadlines: This application is for trainers based in Liberia and is for a period of 15 working days between June 3 to June 18, inclusive of the development of training materials

(e) Reports: The trainer will present the developed training material one week before training day, and submit the training report to Sister Aid Liberia two days the training is executed.

2. REQUIREMENTS FOR EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

• A degree in Human rights, Gender Studies, Leadership, Peace Mediation and Conflict Resolution, Political Science, Sociology or any other relevant discipline.

• A minimum of 2 years of prior work experience in the field of training, women’s rights advocacy

• Being a UN Women trained expert on Women’s Political Leadership and Campaign Management is an added advantage

• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in developing training modules/curriculum, training materials etc.

• Demonstrated experiences and skills in facilitating stakeholder/working group consultations and training.

• Relevant regional and international experience will be an added advantage.

• Excellent writing, editing, and oral communication skills in English.

The project seeks to identify experts that fulfill the above criteria and have demonstrated ability of involving key stakeholders (Gender, Internal Affairs, Peace-Building practitioners, civil society etc.) to provide relevant expertise and bring a wider perspective in developing of the training manual.

3. DOCUMENTS TO BE INCLUDED WHEN SUBMITTING THE PROPOSALS

While submitting your proposal of interest, the Applicant shall, in particular, ensure to attach the following:

i. Profile of the trainer (max 1 page) explaining why they are the most suitable for the contract. ii. Relevant Experience (max 2 pages). iii. Detailed methodology. iv. Recent CV

4. FINANCIAL PROPOSAL

Payment scheme: The financial proposal shall specify a total breakdown of costs for training fee, and travel. Payments will be made in installments based upon key outputs, i.e. upon delivery of the services specified in the TOR.

• 75% will be paid upfront on signing of the contract and submission of comprehensive training materials, including agenda and methodology for the training.

• 25% on completion of training and submission of final report, the remaining 25% will be paid.

Note: In compliance of LRA tax regulations, a minimum of 10% tax withholding will be deducted from the total amount of payment being made to each trainer. The breakdown will be captured within trainers’ contracts.
